The phrase Resource Box is not new to bloggers and internet marketers, it is often heard all the time in many online communities and so if you’ve never heard about it before, then maybe you just started, but the question is, do we really know how to make good use of it? However, the internet is the information highway and people that visits the internet are subdivided into groups, but generally, they are out to search for certain information. Whether business, fun or anything else the internet has provided us with information that has proved to be very beneficial.
A resource box is what you usually find at the end of an article which will contain the name of the author, a brief description of the author, a brief description of the sponsoring site and a link to the author’s blog and sometimes to his social media profiles as well. If a reader is moved by what he read, he would have the tendency to find out where the article came from to read more.
The resource box will be their link to the source of the article and this will entice them to go to the site and do some more reading or research for the subject or topic they are interested in and may eventually become a returning visitor.
For example, the sites may feature many articles about a whole lot of topics. As a website visitor reads the articles they have searched for, they can find at the end of the article a resource box that can be clicked on to link them to the site that has submitted the article. Of course the article would be in relation to the site.
Resource box is not only used in articles marketing sites like ezine article, article base etc, it is also used in social media sites which is known as profile. Just like the resource box, your social media profiles are also used to give a little description about you and your products/services. You can also see resource box on blogs known as author bio. For instance, when you write a guest post, at the end of the post, there will be a little box that talks about you which readers can click to visit your own blog.
However, like the article itself, the resource box must also be eye-catching in order to grab the attention and interest of the reader. While the resource box encompasses only a small space, providing the right keywords and content for your resource box will provide more prodding for the reader to go to your site.
What are the benefits of having a good resource box?
Mainly, a resource box is used in driving traffic to your site. Many sites would allow articles to be placed in their sites because they can make use of the articles to fill their pages. They also get affiliation with other sites that can be beneficial for them as well. For the sponsoring site, when you get people to click on your resource box, you generate quality backlink and traffic that can be counted upon as potential customers.
So what would be a good content for your resource box? Basically it is keywords, learning about the proper keywords that people are mainly searching for. There are many tools you can find in the internet that can help you in determining what keywords to use.
Resource boxes can also make use of all the creativity it can get. You only get a small space for your resource box so you better make the most of it. Try to catch the attention of your reader with resource box content that can make them give a second look. Unlike TV ads, you don’t have visual aids to drive your point in. But you do have the power of imagination of a reader. With the right content, you can make them think and intrigued.
Another tip is to use keywords that should be related to your site. Do not mislead your potential website visitors. Build your credibility so that more people would get enticed to visit your site and browse what you have to offer. Make the people click your resource box by providing resource box content that makes a lasting impression. Remember you only have one chance to wow them and hundreds of chances to repulse them.
Finally, as an advice, never underestimate the power of the resource box. It may be small in size but they will provide a significant aid in driving traffic to your site. A boring resource box will never get the job done. Be fun and creative but at the same time show that you have a great deal to offer, too much to ask for something that couldn’t fit a paragraph? Yes and no, there are many tips and guides that can help you in doing this, the first step is realizing how important a resource box could be in making people click your link and be directed to your site.
Remember to make your resource box as concise and simple as possible, the most important thing is the drive your point home in a simple but comprehensive term.
Don’t just read and go, participate in the discussion. So, what is your own view of the resource box?

Hi Theodore!
Thanks for calling our attention to a very critical issue…
From my experience doing article marketing, you get the best results by ensuring your resource box focuses on what your readers stand to gain. Yes, you should add your name but don’t focus on it. Many people make the big mistake of telling their readers how they are the best thing that happened since slice bread — Who cares?
Treat your resource box like a sales copy — What’s in it for them? What benefits do your readers stand to gain by clicking through to your site? Actually, I should rephrase that to…
What’s the major benefit that your ideal reader stands to gain by visiting your site? Take note of “major benefit” — Since you cannot tell them everything you have to offer, you have to tell them the single most important thing they stand to gain.
Also, make sure you have identified who your ideal visitor is. You can’t sell to everyone and you don’t need to. And where possible, add a clear call to action. Bear these three points in mind and then craft your resource box accordingly. Here’s an example that buttresses these three points….
I teach beginners how to make their first $10k online (usually within 90 days). So here’s how my resource box would look like…

And don’t forget to ensure that your landing page is tightly focused on meeting the value promised in your resource box.

You can’t sell to everyone and you don’t need to, i can’t agree more Chimezirim, you know most of the time, some marketers always focus on forcing their products down their readers throat thereby scaring them away.
Ones you write an eye catching resource box, they will surely want to know more about you and your products.
Thanks for coming.

Giving your resource box an utmost attention is very paramount and should not be ignored for any reason. Thanks for coming and feel free to let me know if you need my help in anything at all.
Kabenah says
To be honest with you, I don’t really pay attention to that but after reading this post, I ought to really pay attention to my resource box.
Theodore Nwangene says
It is worth paying attention to Kabenah because if you don’t, people will not be enticed to click on it at all. Thanks for coming Kabenah and hope to see you again.

Hi,
Wonderful post, and yeah you’ve mentioned great idea for the resource box. According to i believe people would not click ads until they found any thing special on that ad.
usually the ads with some great offer would get clicked in easy way, but what if its not in great offer and have simple link to be clicked. So in this issue we need to have a great and quality content and good ad placement to get clicks.
thanks
Theodore Nwangene says
I quite agree with you Tushar,
Having a great content is the first and must crucial thing of cause, no one will like to find out more about a crappy content author. So, in as much as we are paying attention to the resource box, we must also try to write quality and interesting content.
Thanks for the added point Tushar.
Paschal says

Intersting topic theodore,
I do think that putting in – a Promise – can be a possible approach to making a Resource Box, that can make people somewhat curious to click, the one I currently use in forums is:
You can discover – The Vision – Free Preview, and learn more about the Home Business Lifestyle at: hpshappyhomebusiness.blogspot -Dot- com. When I look at the ‘Came From’ in my visit counter I can see that occasionally visitors actually also have a look at my site.
Hopefully you don’t only click because of the promis in the Resouce Box, and that you also get excited about a possiblitity to discover more sure-fire way’s that can help you to turbo-charge and sky-rocket your Home Business Successes because of the fact that you are – Happy – about how I helped you answer your questions in the Forum 🙂
Yeremi Akpan says
Nothing can zap away your credibility faster than a false promise to your readers.
If you make a promise in the resource box, make sure you keep it. If you make unsubstantiated claims in your resource blog, all it takes to find out your lie is a click-through.
Theodore Nwangene says
I can’t agree more Akpan,
If you want to kill your business and brands, then go ahead and make false promises. Thanks for the additional point friend.
