I’ve often heard some bloggers complaining that social networking sites is a waste of time because they are not getting any meaningful result from it, while many others usually confess that Social Networking sites has always been their main source of referral traffic. A very good example of those making it from social networking sites is T.I Roberts of tiroberts.com.
T.I Roberts doesn’t believe in SEO at all and therefore, she so much believes in using Social Networking sites to drive tons of traffic to her blog. The question now is…….Why are some people seeing a significant result from social networks while others are saying it’s a total waste of time? Looking at this question, I came to realize that it’s all about knowing the best times to reach your audience. Do you really know the best time to post on social networks?
However, knowing the best times to reach your audience is one of the trickiest aspects of maintaining your brand’s social media strategy.
Therefore, compiled below are the best and worst times to post on social networks which includes Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Pinterest, and Facebook. I found it interesting and decided to share with you, hope you’ll enjoy it too.
Note: These stats are not set in stone – they’re based on Internet users as a whole, not on your specific target audience – but they’re a solid starting point for anyone looking to gain more traction with their social media posts.
Take a look…..

Hey Theodore,
I saw late last year a study by Buddy Media on the different companies in a broad range of industries of what times were best to post on Facebook and they found posting between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. CST as the sweet spot. They also suggested not posting more then four times a day because people aren’t reading every single post. Spread them out. I’ve been doing that for quite a while now and it works.
The times I post on Twitter vary and I run a report every month to see which times are best. There are even some weekend times that they recommend so mine vary by the day and month actually.
Google+ is about the same, I saw some posting times there but I just follow with what I post on Twitter and it’s been working.
Great infographic but I’m sure it varies somewhat per person.

Theodore Nwangene says
Sure thing Adrienne,
It surely varies per individual and that’s why they said that what worked for you might not work for me. I like the analysis you outlined here though. The best thing is not about following what everyone says, but by doing and sticking with what works for you.
Will like if you can publish a post on how you normally run the twitter report.
Thanks for your brilliant comment Adrienne, Enjoy your weekend.
Michael Belk says
Hey Theodore, nice infographic. I do not get much luck with social networking sites. I do ok with Stumbleupon, but they do not comment.
I am not sure if it matters as much, but comments are a good feedback system.
Theodore Nwangene says
I agree with you that comment is a good feedback system Michael,
This is because it shows that people are actually reading your posts. I thing you have to find out why you’re not been successful with social media though, it could be because of the time factor we are discoursing here.
Thanks for your comment my friend and do enjoy your weekend.
Babanature says
Hello Theodore,
Nice post here. i don’t have a specific time to post because i know everybody have a time zone so i use an automatic tool to send my post 3 to 4 times a day so it will reach the whole time zone. Thanks
Theodore Nwangene says
Welcome to TBC Babatunde,
I’m happy to have you here indeed. The time zone of a thing is what we all need to know so as to know when we will be reaching our targeted audience for more result.
Please what tool are you using to schedule your postings?
Thanks for coming, hope to see you here again.
Sergio Felix says
Great infographic man, I believe those times are based mostly on spare time and dead time from people that either have a job or go to school.
My audience is basically from two places in the world, America and Europe, so if I post anything after 5:00pm chances are nobody in Europe is going to see it but my audience in the USA definitely sees it.
The same goes for when I work until very late, I post something at 2:00am and nobody is going to see it in America but at that time it’s already a great time for marketers in Europe because it’ll be 10:00am their time.
Just my thoughts on this. 😉
Sergio
Theodore Nwangene says
Hey my man,
I’m happy you have analyzed your posting time, its not very easy to know all these but i still think its still advisable because if you don’t know when your targeted audience are usually online, you might be wasting your time. So I’m happy you’ve discovered yours man.
Enjoy your weekend.
Sapna says
HI Theodore
Great infographics!
But whether these timings are going to work for me I need to check. I remain very less active on social media and will take your infographics into consideration now for posting and remaining active there.
Thanks for sharing this.
Sapna
Theodore Nwangene says
You welcome Sapna,
I’m happy you like the infographic. I’m not also very active on social media either and that is something i really need to work on now. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Chadrack says
Hi Theodore,
First, I must say this infographic is simply great. The colors and layout passes across the message with ease. However, there is something that many who give these suggestions do not take into consideration and that is the issue of time zone. You simply need to know your target audience and then know their time zone if you are going to succeed with these suggestions. And if you are targeting a world wide niche then be ready to stay awake both day and night to succeed with social media postings! 🙂
The point I’m trying to make here is that depending only on social media for your site traffic is not a good strategy. If you must use social media remember to optimize your posts. That will bring in traffic anytime without you trying to gauge the time zone of your target audience. Besides, social media traffic most times are nothing but who are there to socialize and not for business.
Theodore Nwangene says
You have to be awake both day and night? Lol
Even if you’re a robot. Yea i agree with you on the time zone issue Chadrack, i didn’t even thought of before. I normally schedule my postings to automatically go out by 4pm Nigeria time.
But the time zone is something that really matters also. Thanks for reminding me bro.

That is very interesting information on the best times to post. I understand that these times are the ones where you get the most exposure on social media, but I also think it’s important to reach out to different audiences who are online at different times. Great infographic!
Theodore Nwangene says
Thanks for your point Felix,
I think the best thing is just to identify when your target audience are usually online. Thanks for visiting my blog.
Jess Brown says
Hi Theodore,
This is my first time to your blog! You have some great resources here!
This infographic was pretty eye-opening. I have been turning into one of the people who thinks social media is a waste of time, but now I know why. I have been posting on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest at the wrong times. Now I know what I need to do to get better results and I’ll be tracking my analytics to see if there is any noticeable change.
Thanks for posting this!
Jess

Hi Theodore,
Great Infographic Theodore!
This is very educating as I just post on social media but I never follow a schedule of when are the best times. Very interesting to know these information as I need to adjust my postings according to the best times mentioned in the infographic and test and see what are the best times that will work for me.
Thanks Theodore for sharing this important and valuable information.
Be Blessed,
Neamat

Hey bro,
My experience with Twitter confirms Adrienne’s opinion. That also confirms your range 1 – 3 pm. This generally will get more impressions.
I have not studied this for other networks but it should not be too different
Nice infograph my man
Theodore Nwangene says
Yea my man,
I also agree totally with what Adrienne is saying, but you might consider trying it for other networks as well, lets see what result it brings.

Theodore Nwangene says
Hey Samuel,
Thanks a lot for coming to my blog, really appreciate. I believe that social media can give you some boost in traffic you use them appropriately. But its also good to be getting search traffic but i must say…Do not rely on them that much because they can’t be trusted.
Thanks for the visit, hope to see you again.

I never knew that there is a right time that I should post my tweets and update my status in Facebook until I read this. Starting today, I will open my Facebook every afternoon from one to four.
Theodore Nwangene says
Hi Kelly,
I’m happy to have you here. Just give it a shot and see what result it will bring.
Thanks for stopping by and do have a wonderful week.
Sandra says
After I read your article, I realized something. There is really a time for everything specially with posting in Facebook and Twitter. So that’s why statuses from 8pm to 8am have lesser number of likes than my statuses from 1pm to 4pm. Hmmm, this is really worth sharing.
Theodore Nwangene says
Very happy that i can help with my post Sandra,
Just try the tips i shared here, I’m sure it will also work for you.
Thanks for coming.

I absolutely love infographics. They are so engaging.
It’s really interesting to know the best times to post on different social media networks. The problem is when you have to post for an audience on a different country (the time difference). Luckily, this can always be solved with scheduled posting.
Thanks for this lovely infographic and keep up the good work.
Theodore Nwangene says
Thanks Chris,
I’m happy you like the infographic.
