The online world is constantly evolving, and I’m certain that we all are already aware of that. Some time ago, Matt Cutts said that guest blogging is dead and a lot of discussions were raised on the internet regards to that. In one of the discussions, my friend Ana Hoffman said that Guest Blogging is still alive and kicking which was also my own opinion but the truth is that, guest blogging is still as effective as before.
However, it has changed to more than just link building and on-page optimization but like I said in my post, if you focus on value and quality, you will still get amazing results from your guest blogging efforts.
In my post at Aha-now.com (Thanks Harleena for allowing me to share my little knowledge with your community) I mentioned that both Content Marketing, Social Media Marketing and Search Engine Optimization all falls under the umbrella of Organic Marketing and,If you really want to be good in search engine optimization in today’s internet world then, you must use all simultaneously.
Please, check out my guest post at aha-now.com if you’ve not done so.
A sites social media signals plays a huge role on the sites search engine ranking and as such, some drastic measures should be taken in order to power up your social media marketing so you’ll get all the rewards the search engines offer.
Gone are days when you only need to build some crappy backlinks to a webpage and it will rank very high on the SERPs. Today, the search engines have started taken other factors like your social media signals and content marketing into consideration before deciding whether to rank you or not.
The Roles of Content Marketing to Search Engine Rankings
Apart from the social media, there is one other strategy that will help you to boost your search engine rankings and this strategy is known as……… Content Marketing.
It should be very obvious that content marketing plays a very big role as far as search engine rankings is concerned.
Like I said above, social media also has a role to play on search engine rankings but permit me to ask you a question………… If you don’t have a good content on your blog, what then will you share on the social media? I guess you now get where I’m coming from.
The first step towards gaining any traction on your social media marketing and search engine optimization is to ensure you have quality contents on your blog, that is the only time you will start expecting the search engines to recognize you.
Write quality contents that is shareable and make it boosts user experience and then, the search engines will reward you handsomely.
In his post, Neil Petal gave us some interesting stats as to why your search engine rankings will also be determined by your content marketing efforts and he said that…….
1. Web pages that rank on page one of Google typically have 2,032 to 2,494 words. By making sure your web pages are filled with detailed content that users find useful, you are more likely to rank higher.
2. Companies with blogs typically receive 97% more leads than companies without blogs. The reason for that is that content rich sites tend to get more back links and social traffic, which helps them generate more traffic overall.
So tell me, what do you think about these stats? Do you agree or not? Answer me on the comment section.

HI Theodore,
That was a lovely infographic indeed saying it all ๐
I loved the 3 tips in the end of all of the other things mentioned – be emotional and connect with your readers, focus on solving problems because you can never go wrong that way for sure, and having a direct kind of conversation with you and I as readers can connect right across to you that ways – just the perfect things to do, though I never knew you could call them content marketing – I guess I could be called one then ๐
I sure am glad that long posts, which means longer than 2000 words rank better, so after all writing long does help, isn’t it? Thanks for sharing and adding in the latest post here too, of course your own on my blog! Have a nice week ahead ๐
Theodore Nwangene says
Thanks once again Harleena,
Yea, I do know that longer posts rank better and I know you’re very good at that:) and all the other things mentioned on this post. Thanks a lot for the comment.

Hello my friend,
Well said, content marketing is very important when it comes to search engine rankings
I’ve noticed too, articles with +2000 words rank much better than ones with less.
A quick note: there’s no Neil Petal, there’s Neil Patel (the guru behind quicksprout) (I’m sure is a silly mistake, I too make all the time, anyway every mistake should be fixed and further readers must not see it)
PS: I’d like to know if you have any impact on months when you had only adsense monetizing your website and months when you had adsense + infolinks(in case you made any test). I’d like to thank you in advance for your reply.
Have a great week ahead, we’ll meet on your next updates my friend.
Theodore Nwangene says
Hi Dan,
Thanks for the correction and, I also appreciate your wonderful opinion on this post. Regards your question, there There was no much different between when I used only adsense and when I combined infolinks.
Thanks

Hi Theodore,
Thank you for sharing this post. Of course adding the infographic was spot on, considering that the post is on content marketing. I think that one way to improve content marketing (I can’t back this up with details from Google like you did) is by using different forms of media inside of the post, and that way making every post unique not only in content, but also in form.
Theodore Nwangene says
Hello Amiti,
I agree with you. Its also necessary to use different forms of media on the post. Thanks for the visit

We cannot actually talk about proper search engine ranking without mentioning proper content marketing. Permit me to say that a search ranking without content marketing is but a fizzle that would sooner be hushed out.
It is important for marketers to recreate content and instill more value in them. This would ensure better impacts search engines and ultimately the audience.
Nevertheless, this infographic says it all, and I agree with you that content impacts search engine ranking in a BIG way.

Thank you for sharing the infographic, Theo ๐
Content marketing surely does affect search engines. Personally, I am not a fan of search engines (I mean, investing in search engines….trying to get better rankings). We should just focus on the content we provide – to our real readers ๐
But, I can’t deny the role search engines play in blogging, and in online business. So, it’s better to put some effort into it. But, keep our readers in mind, they are far more important than a search engine.
I loved all the tips – conversational tone, problem solving and using emotions.
I do try the first and last, not so sure about problem solving ( I do share my problems..and the solutions I find for them. I suppose that counts :D).
Anyways, thank you for sharing this, Theo ๐ Hope you are having a good week!
Theodore Nwangene says
I’m indeed having a good week Jeevan,
I hope you’re also having an awesome week there :). Thanks a lot for this kind comment of yours as always and, i agree with your points. Happy new week

There’s no doubt that content marketing has a great impact on search engine rankings. We mustn’t forget that the internet is about information which content marketing is all about. Providing the right type of content therefore whether it is on your blog/websites or on your emails is the way of success.
With the recent changes in search engine marketing spearheaded by Google, doing content marketing in the right way is the new internet.
Theodore Nwangene says
You’ve said it all in a concise manner Chadrack,
And, i agree with your points. The internet is certainly made of informations which is the contents we’re talking about here. I’m happy you agree with me here man, thanks for coming:).
Ashvini says
Hi Theodore,
Yes, content marketing has been a great way to get search engines to know your blog. But I believe that the returns on content marketing will diminish with time as more and more content is created. We are already on the edge of ‘content shock’ and soon the cost of creating content will be higher than the returns from it. That means content marketing as a marketing tool will be less efficient at least for small bloggers.
But I agree that is very much necessary to create content that people like to read and build a community with that.
Thanks for sharing this. I hope you are having a great time ๐
Theodore Nwangene says
Thanks for sharing your awesome opinion with us on this topic Ashvini,
What you’re saying might be through but, that will not happen soon. Lets just keep our fingers crossed and see what will happen. Thanks for the visit once again my man:).

It sounds like you’ve shared an experience that others commenting here have as well. I’m not sure that “freshness” is always the reason to higher rankings for all types of queries. What this patent seems to be telling us is that for some queries, a lack of frewuent changes might make a page rank higher.

Thanks for sharing this great article! I think it’s so important for businesses to remember to be human. They want to build relationships with their customers in a natural way, without being pushy or forceful. That’s where content comes in. Good content will have “emotion” (as you mentioned) and will be educational and insightful. It takes more time and effort but it is definitely worth it.
